Nozzle Flow Rate Calculator

Calculate the volumetric flow rate through your 3D printer nozzle based on speed and layer settings.

How It Works

Enter layer height, line width (typically 100-120% of nozzle diameter), and print speed. The calculator shows volumetric flow rate and whether it exceeds your hotend's rated capacity.

Formula

Flow Rate (mm3/s) = Layer Height x Line Width x Print Speed

Frequently Asked Questions

What is maximum flow rate?

Standard hotends handle 5-15 mm3/s. High-flow hotends (Volcano, Dragon HF) can do 20-40 mm3/s. Exceeding this causes under-extrusion.

How do I increase flow rate?

Increase nozzle temperature (10-20C), use a larger nozzle, upgrade to a high-flow hotend, or reduce print speed.
